I'm Mel, the face behind Ardour Photography.
I'm a family photographer based between Bristol and bath who specialises in Motherhood Photography. Why Ardour? Well, Ardour actually means to have great passion or enthusiasm about something or someone. When I was thinking about what to name my business, I wanted it to have true weight. The word Ardour was perfect! Not only does it represent the passion I have for photography, but also the love you have for your family.
To me images are not just an expense they are a true investment. They are something you can treasure forever allowing you to tell your life story. I believe that an image is a gateway that takes you back to all those warm and magical feelings of a moment in time that would otherwise fade if not captured.
I am so passionate about what I do and I am truly grateful for you allowing me to do what I love. Now let's start capturing your story!

I couldn't recommend Mel highly enough. Mel is a true professional and made my family and I feel really at ease when being photographed. The quality of the photos we have received are incredible and we have been inundated with compliments from friends and family. Both times we have upgraded to the full package of photos because there are just too many beautiful photos to choose from. I love that Mel has multiple packages to chose from to suit everyone. Mel as an ability to capture the most precious moments. We had a maternity beach shoot and despite my two year old being chaotic and wanting to spend the whole time throwing stones into the sea, Mel captured beautiful moments with my husband, bump and I. Our newborn shoot was booked for when our baby was 3 days old and it was so calm. Mel came to our house for the session and brought outfits for our baby girl, which made everything so much easier. We couldn't thank Mel enough for the unforgettable moments she has captured for us.

We are completely and utterly blown away by Mel. She is the most friendliest and patient lady ever. Her photography skills are incredible. I just had a baby who had been in and out of hospital and Mel was completely understanding and supportive with everything, not only on the day but has checked in regularly since. Mel was so caring with our newborn but also fantastic with our 6 year old making her feel extra special and involved for the whole session. We even bought every single picture Mel produced as they were so beautiful. In addition to how fantastic she is, her communication is perfect and consistent!
